Elevated dishes that go way past your ordinary waterfront dining

You can’t get more waterfront than Oxbow Bar & Grill. Heck, they should call it floating-on-the-water dining. A very short walk away from the Luminary Hotel is Oxbow Bar & Grill, a new staple in the downtown Fort Myers restaurant scene with a modern, yet cozy and relaxed atmosphere. Their menu has some elevated dishes that go way past your ordinary waterfront dining and some extraordinary cocktails (named after historical figures) - they even stamp their name on their giant ice cubes! Pictured are the McCan’t Tell Alice Anything and the Captain “Francis” Gone Bananas, garnished with a caramelized banana.

Our noms:

🍽 Florida Cracker Steamed Mussels in rich bacony, garlicy, buttery broth, perfect for dipping their Sourdough Boule into.

🐠 Grilled Local Mahi Mahi with a super creamy “hoppin john” risotto with okra, corn and tomatoes, surrounded by a lemon beurre blanc.

🍤 Low Country Shrimp plated on a generous bed of Anson Mills cheddar grits and sitting in a white wine sauce.

🍫 The classic Chocolate Caramel Molten Cake - always a winner when your last bites include chocolate, caramel, vanilla ice cream, and strawberry sauce.

And while we watched the sun setting from the Beacon Social Drinkery, we have no doubt the sunset from Oxbow would be just as breathtaking. Try to time your meal to watch the sun go down over the Caloosahatchee!
